Fog in May ?

ross 400x300 Fog in May ?

Yesterday I was awoken at about 8 AM by Harookz, he was calling to ask if there was any fog in the Cove. I’m thinking to myself that it’s May, and there won’t be anything out there. I look out my window and the cove is just socked in with fog. We put together a plan real quick to shoot this ancient drop on the shore.

I built this drop about 5 years ago, and since then its survived 5 winters, 5 summers of paint ballers, and the district chopping all the stunts around it. I never really shot it before yesterday, and I hadn’t been there in a long time, so I was worried about the condition of it. Surprisingly when we got there the landing was ready to go there, the ladder on the other hand needed some work. We re-braced it quickly and worked on the run in.

We decided to wait it out to see if it was going to come back. After about half an hour of messing around in the pouring rain, we could see a fog bank slowly rolling towards us from further down the hill. Eventually it creeped over top of us and we decided it was go time. We hit the drop a few times, but it turned out that the fog was too thick, it was smothering any light we had, and the rain was wreaking havoc on harookz’s gear. We got some shots, but they were nowhere near as sick as they could have been. We missed the God light by about 10 minutes.

Hopefully with some rain in the forecast this week we’ll be able to bag it.
