The New Year is around the corner and Knolly Bikes is excited to announce we are now recruiting for the 2016 Grassroots Racing Program. The program is aimed at supporting selected athletes with Grassroots level support in 2016 for DH, XC, and Enduro formats. After a successful 2015 we are happy to announce that we have expanded the program in 2016 to include elevated racing sponsorship opportunities. We will have two levels of sponsorship moving forward: “Grassroots” and “Tier 2.” The Tier 2 athlete level sponsorship is geared towards supporting athletes with direct sponsorship including product, race support and potential to graduate to the Knolly Bikes factory team.

Supplementing our stoke on being able to roll out the 2016 version of the racing program we are equally as excited about our product line-up going into the New Year. Chief designer Noel Buckley has been hard at work elevating his industry leading designs into bigger wheel sizes and carbon. Two new models are already available and two more are in the pipeline for early in 2016 offering any racer a suitable weapon to tear up the race track.
Carbon Warden – The new Warden Carbon has 155mm of rear travel controlled by our patented and proprietary Fourby4 suspension design providing efficient pedaling and the notorious ‘bottomless’ Knolly feel. Utilizing our industry leading geometry specs, this long and low rocket ship is primed to demolish your local enduro race series.www.knollybikes.com/bikes/warden-carbon
Delirium – The North Shore legend has returned with a bad ass attitude and bigger wheels. Riding the most versatile bike on the market means you can run a 170mm single crown fork for nimble tracks, or throw on a 200mm dual crown to monster truck your way to the podium. Adjustable geometry, dual fork compatibility and internal cable routing are just a few features on this rig. Check out the website for more details www.knollybikes.com/bikes/delirium.
Podium – Shown here is our 26″ version. We have stock available at a tremendous value so if you are waiting to get into the most playful DH bike on the market don’t wait any longer. New for 2016 is a 27.5″ Podium which will be arriving in the spring. We will have a limited distribution in time for race season so don’t hesitate to get your name next to a mind blowing design centered with Knolly patent Fourby4 suspension platform. What can you expect from a 27.5″ Podium? The answer is easy as you can expect the same world class proprietary suspension platform maximizing traction and playfulness in addition to a lower BB, slacker head tube angle and longer top tube geometry. We will be sharing more details with racers in the coming weeks but one thing is for sure that this bike will take our Podium to more Podiums in 2016 than ever before! www.knollybikes.com/bikes/podium
Warden – The Warden is a perfect weapon for enduro or aggressive XC racing. We took our time to enter the 27.5 segment with this model to make sure we delivered a bike that would exceed expectations. The Warden will make sure you are Always in Charge! www.knollybikes.com/bikes/warden
Steve Storey and his 2016 Endorphin – The 2016 Endorphin is in-house and ready to ship. We’re stoked to announce that Steve has graduated to a factory team position after 2 years on the Grassroots program. Steve started at the grassroots level, worked his way up to Tier 2 in 2015 then found a spot on the factory team in 2016. We asked Steve to give us his thoughts on the new Endorphin so if you want an in depth look check out his write up on the link below. If you don’t have time check out the website for details on why we feel this is the best aluminum 130mm Enduro bike on the market!
Steve Storey’s First Impressions
“Very excited to see us roll out another year diving deeper into racing with the 2016 Knolly Knation Grassroots program. We have high hopes to expand the program over the next 2-5 years as we continue to build the foundation. Critical to building a sustainable program is the athletes. One of the more rewarding pieces is to see athletes build their skill set and grow with the program. Examples include Dylan Crane who is well positioned to do big things in racing and Steve Storey who recently was promoted to the factory team after driving great promotional exposure for the brand over the past two years. Looking forward to another successful program in 2016!” Ryan Berrecloth – Knolly Bikes / Marketing Manager
O’Neal has come on board for a second year as the title sponsor for the program. All Knation athletes will receive a complimentary O’Neal racing kit and have the opportunity to secure more gear through program. Cane Creek, Spank and Suntour are also proud sponsors as we look to support athletes with top quality products.
“Moving into the third season of the Knolly Knation Grassroots Racing Program, we are starting to see the everyone’s hard work pay off. Racers that are committed to their craft, and are well supported by our program have been moving up the ranks from Sport to Expert to Semi Pro, and in a couple cases… on the podium as a pro class racer. This was the desired result when we conceptualized the program, and we are looking forward to many more years of successful racer development in the Knolly Knation. We design and deliver the best mountain bikes in the world, and we want every racer who wants to be the best, to have access to our great products.” Kevin Waterbury – Knolly Bikes / Director of Sales and Knation Grassroots Overlord.
When we selected our race managers we selected them carefully to ensure we had managers that are approachable, professional and engaged in their local race scenes. We’re lucky to have a strong management team. One of our race managers Shea Jordan has been leading by example by racing at an elite level and working hard to push out media…
Race Managers are ready to build their teams so send in your resumes now. We’re looking for talent to build the future of the program but also understand racing can be a family event. We are also looking for brand ambassadors that have a positive attitude and can represent Knolly Bikes to the high standard that we expect.
